Hi everybody!! I just wanted let my readers and friends know that I have moved to a new blog. You can find me at: pearlznlacebybeth.com
I am really excited about my new site, and I hope to see you there!! 😀
Wow, it has been a while since my last favorites video and post. Time to get back at it! If you wish to hear me discuss what products I have enjoyed these past few months click on the video above. I will be posting photos of the products below with some details.
I bought my Love and Toast Honey Coconut perfume from Ulta’s website. This 3.6 fl oz is still being sold there for $27.99. The notes in this fragrance include Sandalwood, Violet, Sugared Vanilla, and Sweet Honey. At the moment, Pacifica is still selling the Indian Coconut Nectar on their website. For one ounce it is $22.oo. The notes in this vegan fragrance include coconut and vanilla.
Both the Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick (Make a Mauve) and the Revlon Lip Butter (Berry Smooothie) can be found at drugstores and on Ulta’s website. Prices may vary at location.
The eye shadows I have enjoyed as of late are: Maybelline’s Leather Color Tattoo in Chocolate Suede, Milani Bella Gel Powder Eye Shadow in Ivory, Milani Bella Gel Powder Eye Shadow in Rose, and L’oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Liquid Diamond. These items also can be found in drugstores and Ulta (with exception to Milani, as Ulta does not carry that brand), and prices also may vary upon location. The Milani Bella Shadows I have seen on Milani’s website, and I bought mine from my local CVS Pharmacy.
I have to say the L’oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara has become my favorite drugstore mascara. It is just WONDERFUL! It adds good volume. I purchased one in Black Brown at my local Walmart. You can find it at drugstores and Ulta. On Ulta’s website it is $7.99. They also have a waterproof version of it (I plan to buy one after I use what I have).
I am delighted to find that Urban Decay does indeed continue to sell the Rockstar 24/7 glide-on eye pencil. I have one which came with my Glinda palette. Since it was a limited edition palette, I was unsure if the eye pencil was as well and was no longer being sold; it is and it’s on their website for twenty dollars. This eyeliner is a beautiful, purple, eggplant shade, and it blends out nicely for a smokey effect.
I received this Zoya polish (Blaze) in a three free sale that Zoya was offering on their website earlier this year. It is such a lovely shade for fall. I was really excited to hear from my friend Honey that they were doing the three free offer again. This was one of the three free polishes I picked out and paid only for the shipping. This stunning deep purple red is currently being sold on their website for nine dollars.
I purchased my watch and hair jaw clips from my local Walmart a while ago. I was able to located the clips I bought there. They are the Vidal Sassoon Octopus Clips and this eight pack is being sold for $2.98.
Last item to make my favorites is this soft, split leather cross body. I also purchased this at my local walmart. I believe I paid between ten and twenty dollars for it and have being using it all summer long. It has been such a convenience for quick trips and errands.
If you wish me to do a separate post, going more in depth about my experience with a product, please feel free to let me know! What products have you been liking lately? I would love to hear about them!!

About a few months back I received a set of hair products from Hayashi Worldwide, LCC, geared to treat thinning hair. One of the key ingredients is the hinoki oil, which Hayashi’s website conveys that it is supposed to help provide benefits to the scalp. Some of my readers and viewers may remember that I have, before in other posts, briefly discussed a nervous disorder (Trichotillomania). I have been battling Trich for almost twenty years; which leaves my hair absent in some places after an episode. When my hair grows back, it is very fine and sparse for a long while. I was most intrigued when I heard of this line.
A few months of usage is not nearly long enough time to produce final thoughts. At the moment I do plan to follow up with an extensive review in a month on my blog and youtube channel, and may thereafter on a later date, checking in yet again. In short, today I will be just briefly discussing my experience so far.
The Hinoki 4-Step System set arrived neatly boxed, enclosed with literature relaying aspects about each of the products, interesting history about hinoki oil, and various causes for hair thinning in men and women. I was sent a shampoo, conditioner, a hair thickener, and scalp leave-in conditioner. Their scent, the shampoo especially, does remind me of a salon, in a sense–very clean. The shampoo seems to work well in removing dirt and debris.
My scalp and long tresses are naturally very dry. While the conditioner, and the leave-in scalp conditioner seem to have a shiny, smoothing affect, the dryness is still apparent. Normally, I wash and condition my hair once a week, and at the most twice. Since I have noticed even more dryness in my scalp and hair after switching to these products from my previous hair care routine, I have been getting by with washing and conditioning once a week. The past few weeks the dry, flakiness has decreased a bit since adjusting the frequency, and not using the leave-in scalp conditioner and hair thickener. Moving forward I will be adding the leave-in scalp conditioner and hair thickener again and also some products I have previously used from other brands to help with the dryness. I have talked with Stephanie at Hayashi, asking her if it was normal to have such a reaction (the excessive dryness). To paraphrase, she answered saying that some people have different experiences with hair products than others. This is my experience as of now.
In regards to the packaging, I think it is wonderful they have detailed directions in different languages on the bottles. I was surprised to find after having the items for such a short amount of time, that the print was beginning to wear off badly on the front of the bottles; and starting to come off a little on one in the back. This happened with the leave-in conditioner and the conditioner. When I inquired about this, it was suggested that it may have been damaged during shipping. However, the box it came in was indeed intact, and but one of the bottles had a few vacancies in the wording on the front.
I would like to make note that due to the nature of my nervous disorder, in the photos, I had made use of a hair filler as needed.
Does it work? It is still too early for me to say for sure. In some areas, I believe the hair follicles may be a bit thicker than before, but I do not notice a huge difference. I have enjoyed the clean feeling after usage, and the detailed information and directions that came with the set. Again, I will be following up with a review in about a month, so keep a weather eye out for my post if you are interested to hear more about my experience with these products!
To check out their products, you can find them through this link: http://www.hinoki.com/. Each of these 10 fl oz products can be purchased separately (the Hinoki Shampoo is $20, Hinoki Conditioner is $20, Hinoki Plus Leave-in Conditioner is $21.50, and Hinoki Hair Thickener is $21.50) or as a set for $78.85.
I would like to thank Stephanie at Hayashi for sending these products for me to try, and I would like to extend my gratitude to Honey from youtube for referring me to them.

A few weeks back, my friend Honey, from youtube, discussed doing a collab together with the new Milani Bella eye shadows. Honey came up with the brilliant plan for each of us to incorporate them in two very different looks; she would create a sultry evening look with a vibrant pop, and I would do a bright daytime look. We both have used mostly drugstore/drugstore priced items for our tutorials. To see my spin using this beautiful shadows click on the video below.
For my makeup look I used the following products:
– Coastal Scents Step 1 Eye Primer
– Nyx Cosmetics Eye Shadow Base in Skintone
– A bright yellow shadow from the Coastal Scents 252 ultimate eye shadow palette
– Milani Bella Rose Eye Shadow
– Loreal Eye Shadow Infallible in Liquid Diamond
– Milani Bella Navy Eye Shadow
– Milani Bella Ivory Eye Shadow
– Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in Black Onyx
– Loreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

(For brows not demonstrated in the video, I used Covergirl brow pencil in Midnight Brown and Salon Perfect Brow Sculpting Gel.)

– Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 025 Peach Parfait

I would like to extend a big thank you to Honey for coming up with this collab and inviting me to participate and helping me with naming my look. I had a blast playing with new goodies with such a dear friend.

In May, I explored new horizons in regards to cosmetics. I played with some new palettes and drugstore lippies. Some of these products have even followed me to present – they are THAT good!! If you want to hear me talk about it all check out my youtube video via this link: http://youtu.be/PLo0FXOa900
Below I have provided close up pictures of what made the cut for May; as well as prices and information of where to locate it.
This Summer Juice perfume roll on I received in last month’s Rainbow Honey mystery bag smells amazing!! I love to layer it with Viva La Juicy or Golden Delicious perfumes. The rollerball fragrance possesses a sweet, fruity, citrus aroma. They have yet to list it on their site, but I am hoping they will soon. Their other rollerballs sell for ten dollars.
After watching my favorite beauty gurus eleventhgorgeous and Honey rave about the Maybelline elixer lipglosses, I decided to give it a go. At my Walmart, I picked up this sweet peachy toned lipgloss called Breathtaking Apricot. I enjoy its smooth application, construction of the wand pad, and gorgeous color! (This lipgloss is currently being sold at Walmart online for $6.49, and at Ulta online for $8.99)
My jaw hit the floor when I saw the Loreal Colour Riche lipsticks marked down to three dollars and change at my local Walmart (originally around seven dollars). I bought three and two made this month’s favorites. This lipstick is in the color Pink Vinyl. It is a very pretty barbie pink color. It feels smooth and creamy on the lips; not drying at all. The pigmentation is very good. My hubby likes this one on me, too. (You can find this online at Walmart for $7.97)
The second Loreal Colour Riche lipstick to make my favorites is in the color Sunset Angora – which is a pretty medium pink nude shade. (You can find this online at Walmart for $7.97)
I bought this Too Faced Natural Eyes palette in a set that was on sale via Too Faced Cosmetics’ website. The pigmentation is gorgeous and feels smooth and buttery when applied. As my Rue beauty dupe for this palette was starting to get old looking (crumbly texture, and cracking), I decided to let it go and try something else, and so far I am loving this palette!! (The palette itself is currently being sold on Too Face’s website for $36, at Ulta in store and online, and at Sephora in store and online for the same.)
I believe I have been using my Laura Geller baby cakes baked to go palette since April. With the blush, bronzer, and eyeshadows conveniently placed in one palette, it has made quick application a breeze! The shades are stunning and a little goes a long way. I bought this palette, during their spring sale, on Laura Geller’s official website for $30.60 (reg. priced at $42).
This dual ended brush came with a limited edition Tarte palette I bought back in 2013. Since then, it has become one of my most reached for brushes for eye shadow application. The shade end is perfect for packing color on the lid and the domed on the other applies shadow into the crease beautifully. As of right now, I am unable to locate this particular brush online. And normally, it is sold in some of their eye shadow palettes. The palette I bought last year was around thirty-six dollars.
Last month, I discovered a shop on Ebay that sells handcrafted, Native American inspired, beaded earrings. I bought a couple of pairs, but of the two I found this black and turquoise quilled one dazzling. I paid $11.55 for this pair. The shop (the_pottery_guys) sells these and other beaded earrings, too.
For Mother’s Day, my mom made me this pretty wooden, embossed, hinged box. I love anything made by mother and this is very precious to me. I have been using this storage as a jewelry box to hold my stone and Native American jewelry, and a few watches.
I hope you enjoyed catching up with my favorites for May. If there is anything you would like me to do an in depth review on, please let me know! What have you been lovin’ lately? I would love to hear all about it! Feel free to comment below!!
